I have worked in the bloodstock insurance industry for 47 years. My initial placement was as Manager and Director of the Newmarket Bloodstock Agency Limited (NBA). I then spent 17 years at Bloodstock and General Insurance Services Limited (BGI), a company I had formed in partnership with Hugh McCalmont in 1969. Five years later we sold the company to Hogg Robinson, and I remained with the company as Managing Director until I purchased it back in 1981. BGI continued to grow until it was sold in 1986.

In 2000, I re-entered the fray by forming JH Insurance, a company which quickly established a solid reputation for itself in the bloodstock insurance market. In 2006, Anglo Hibernian bought the company and now stands as a leading insurer of bloodstock.

I attend all the main bloodstock sales throughout the year and I am at all Newmarket race meetings. I am always pleased to discuss bloodstock insurance and can be contacted at any time.
