I started insuring horses at Anglo Hibernian Bloodstock Insurance on 1st July 1997. I previously cut my teeth in the Bloodstock Insurance world with BBA Insurance in London, and then in Newmarket.
I left school at the age of 16 and began studying for the ACCA qualification with a firm of Chartered Accountants in Bury St Edmunds.
I started working for Anglo Hibernian in 2001 shortly after completing a Higher Diploma in Business and Administrative procedures at West Suffolk College.
I started working in the insurance industry in 1988 in the Personal and Commercial Insurance Sector for a local Insurance Group. In 1993 I established my own company specializing in Business Risks and it was at this time that I formed a business relationship with Anglo Hibernian processing their general insurance policies
I have worked in the bloodstock insurance industry for 47 years. My initial placement was as Manager and Director of the Newmarket Bloodstock Agency Limited (NBA).
Anglo Hibernian are delighted that Bob Lanigan has joined our ranks as our representative in Ireland. Bob has a wealth of experience in the world of Bloodstock Insurance and is a recognised and respected figure in the Irish bloodstock community.
Racing has been my life, ever since I first came to Newmarket in 1966, to be a pupil trainer with the greatly respected Harvey Leader – one of the very few people to have trained both a Classic and a Grand National winner.
